Finally! However, it has not been strictly due to diet and exercise unfortunately. I have found a supplement to help with my hypothyroidism, so that's good in so many ways! In fact it's most likely due to stress in my life.
So much stress. I recently found out some news that was not happy news and quite heartbreaking, in fact. Top this with sending off our youngest to college 4 hours away....and just for shits and grins, let's toss another fucking deployment in; as the cherry on top! It's not been great over here. I am trying really hard to not be stressed out, depressed, lonely and overwhelmed. Some days I think I have shit under control and other days I just lose my shit completely. It doesn't matter how many deployments we endure; it just never gets easier. In the past we've had 3 years between them. This time, it's 2 within two years. Not cool.
As a result, I have lost about 20 or so pounds in about a month. Granted, I have all this life to deal with. I have also been eating LCHF; which keeps the hunger very low. If I start my day with a 20 oz cold brew iced coffee with heavy whipping cream and stevia, I am good to go until dinner time. Eat about 4 oz protein and a low carb veg and call it a day. I am not hungry at all and I seem to function alright and get what needs to be done. It may appear as if I am not eating enough, but let's be honest I am not exactly over active either. When I up my activity I will worry about consuming more. Right now not being hungry or even craving anything is a pretty nice feeling.
I have consumed popcorn at the movies with my kids one weekend and was completely fine to resume my LCHF the next day without any carby cravings or withdrawals. Which is not normally the case for me.
Weight Wrangling and Random Babbling ~ I've always had an hour-glass figure. These days my hour-glass just has a lil more sand than it used to!

Time For Another Round!
Yep! It's time for another round. I never did get back down to that illusive 216. Instead I went the other way! O-o Yep, damn sure did; up to 230. This is my starting weight for technically round 3 or round 2 mulligan!
I am 5 days into it; so VLCD5. Instead of doing Simeons original version, I am doing HCG 2.0 version by Dr. Zach LaBoube. His version makes sense to me, so I am going for it. Essentially, your calories are calculated from your BMR (basal metabolic rate), you consume no more than 30 carbohydrates total not net, you can have more proteins and a variety of veggies that you are allowed to mix. *gasp* :) You can learn more about 2.0 from his site as well as his book.
As of VLCD5, I have lost 6.4 pounds. That's an average of 1.28lbs per day. Not too shabby! The losses will taper down this next week. Average daily loss for females is generally a half pound per day on HCG; either plan. Even though he recommends not weighing every day, I just HAD to this first week to see my big losses!
Getting closer to getting out of the 200's. First let's get the hell out of the 220's again...and STAY THERE! :)

P3 and the 4th of July Weekend
After chalking up the last round as a failure; I moved on to Phase 3 (P3). I got as low as 216, but seemed to stay at 219. So I guess that's what I will call my last round weight. Like I said, a round of fail. I think as much as I wanted to lose more weight right away after round one, my body and mind just weren't feeling it. That's okay, live and learn.
Gained a bit over the weekend. I totally expected to as we went to St Louis to see my husband's fave team play. I refuse to 'diet' while we are on vacation, no matter how short the vacay is. We saw a couple good games, wandered St Louis and ate some good food, I had an actual margarita, as well as ballpark food of course! We had a great time and that's ALL that matters.
Now that we are back home I am back to P3 foods. I was even considering doing an egg fast to get the weekend weight off quickly. I'll see how I feel after today.
The sooner I get back to 216-219 the better I will feel. I mean, yeah, the round was a fail, but I'd still like to keep off what little I did manage to get rid of.

Round 2 = fail
Well this round appears to have been a complete bust. Not at all what I was hoping. I stalled in the first week for crying out loud! I am not even sure how that happens.
At least my first round I was seeing results to keep me motivated and on the 500 calorie plan. Without results, in fact gaining while following plan was just beyond frustrating.
How could I possibly GAIN? As a result I cheated more times than I care to count this round. Not due to hunger but sheer frustration and just ate what I wanted out of spite. It's whatever. I did manage to lose 8 pounds and about 5 inches this round, but nothing like first round. If I can stay under 220 until next round, I will be happy!
I was planning on a short round anyway so I would be P3 for 4th of July weekend. I will just have to do better next round.
At some point I should probably see an endocrinologist about my thyroid. I do not care that other Drs have tested me a gazillion times and say I am in normal range. All of my body symptoms tell me otherwise. I mean seriously, how does one gain on 500 calories a day?!
Oh well! P3 will be fine. Other than a couple days I know I will consume more carbs, I will be on plan. Another round will happen at some point, hopefully when there is less happening around here, or at least I have less people to cook meals for. It's really no fun when I have to cook real meals for the family and then I look at my P2 meal...not cool.

Houseguests, Baseball and Graduation
It's been one heck of a time over here! My father in law came to visit for close to a month. This way he could see the last bit of his grandson's high school baseball career as well as his high school graduation. We typically have a lot of snacks on hand for him. Due to chemo etc, he has had a difficult time gaining and keeping weight on. Lots of snacks for him, along with his favorite ice cream that he is unable to get at home.
The baseball season went longer than anyone expected! They just kept winning. They won District, they won Region and went on to play at the State Tournament for the first time in 15 years! There was a LOT of baseball to be had, which meant lots of concession stands and dining out while on the road. Add to that TOM came to visit, then SIL from Vegas came to visit as well. Lots and lots of dining out, then GRADUATION!
With all that going on, it's no wonder I gained. While I did try to make good choices MOST of the time, I did consume bites of this and bites of that; which were full on carby goodness that I had no business consuming!
So my LDW was 217.4, I maintained at about 219-222 give or take, which I was okay with.
No worries, it will be gone before I know it! I'd like to break into ONE-derland this round, but we'll see. To just get under 200 would be magickal.
Round 2 P2 VLCD 0 - 224.2

WTF?! I have a BLOG??? Time to catch up!
So... it's been just over a year since I have been on here. Nice. Clearly, I am not a blog for money kind of gal!
In any case. To catch up; new roof is nice, Rambo is home, kids have aged another year 21 and 19. The boy graduates from high school in just a couple weeks. The daughter is home from one out of state college with degree and will begin in state in the fall. My weight is well...still an issue. :/
April 2014 I was at my lowest since January 2014 when I got down to 201.6. By March I was 212 and April I was back down to a somewhat respectable 205.2. You know, as respectable as 200 plus can be on me. I know I won't ever be a skinny mini; in fact I have no desire to be. I do however expect to get down to 175-180. There, I will be quite content.
After April my weight made the steady climb up to 245 by February of 2015. DING DING DING!!! My new all time high score!
It was then I made the choice to do the HCG Diet. I started April 1st and by May 20th I have been able to get down to 217.4 as my LDW (last dosage weight).
I did some research and watched numerous videos. HCGChica is one of my faves by far! She did the injections and her site as well as her youtube is a treasure trove of info! I chose to do pellets. 4 pellets 3x/day. Easy enough!
HAH! If only it were that easy! Following Phase 2 (P2) Dr Simeons Protocol of 500 calories a day with your hcg is not for the weak or faint of heart. It's a pretty serious thing. Rambo wondered how I was doing it and I wasn't wanting to kill everyone. Hcg is a funny little thing. You really are not hungry, even with only taking in a measley 500 calories a day. The results make it worth every second of it!!! Seriously. The first week I lost just over 11 pounds.
Feeling all kinds of big I decided that a little cheat wouldn't hurt. Wrongo-bongo! With hcg you lose fast, but you know what? You also GAIN fast! That one meal set me back 2.4 pounds...from ONE MEAL! It took me 3 days I think to lose that again. Lesson learned, and I found out for myself just what a 'little' cheat would do. I liked that I did it, because this way I wasn't taking someone else's word for it, I lived it.
So here I am in the first week of Phase 3 (P3) and a wacky first couple of days determining my macros and I am stabilizing well at my LDW. After P2 and all the strict rules, entering P3 left me flapping in the wind! Silly wild and loose rules like no starches and no sugar, other than that "eat until fullness". What kind of madness is this my mind thought?!
Having eaten low carb I know the basics of it and can do it quite well. However, I like having a number in mind of what to not go over etc. Some people are good with 15-20% carbs, I know my body and I know that is far too many for me. I have set my macros at 10% carbs, 65% fat and 25% proteins. Which seems about right so far. I plan to stabilize in P3 for a couple weeks or so then begin my second round. I am planning for my loading days to fall right around my son's graduation. I know he will be choosing one of our fave places to eat and I want to be able to EAT. :)
If I do as well on R2 as I did on R1 I will be happy. My R1 was really long, like 50 days. I believe I have 2 more rounds left to complete for a total of 3 rounds until I will be at goal. Whether those will belong or short rounds will depend on our schedule.
Right now I could not be happier about my experience on HCG. The results are worth the effort.
In 6.5 weeks I lost 27.2 pounds and I lost 20.75 inches!
